Benchy for education
A private place
for your class to make.
Pupils design, model and print with the same tools as everyone else, in a classroom their teacher runs. There is no cost for a verified classroom.
What every classroom includes
- 40 pupils and 2 staff, counting the teacher who opens it.
- No pupil accounts. A pupil joins with a class code and a nickname — no email address, no password, nothing to recover.
- No seat fees for pupils or staff. The editor seats a commercial workspace buys do not apply to a classroom.
- Drafts stay private. A pupil’s unshared work is not in the teacher’s review feed and is left out of an institutional export.
- A closing date you set, up to a year out. After it nobody can open the class or its work, including you.
Two ways to run it

How a classroom opens
- Apply — a person reviews every classroom. You give your school, your teaching role, and who at the school authorises pupils to use Benchy.
- A member of Benchy staff reads it and either approves the classroom with an expiry date or writes back asking for more. There is no automatic check and no .edu shortcut.
- Then the class code works. Pupils join with it; nobody can join before the approval, and the approval has to be renewed when it expires.
Apply for a classroomYou will need a Benchy account for the teacher. Pupils do not.
